Meet 2030beyond, a the do-tank for the 2030 Agenda, launched in Copenhagen on August 28, 2020. Founder and CEO, Kirsten Brosbøl, presented the do-tank stating that this is a ‘make-or-break’ moment for the SDGs:
- Now more than ever, we need a common plan to guide us trough this global pandemic and economic crisis. The 2030 Agenda is that plan. The reason we set ambitious goals is not that it is easy. It is because it is hard, and the goals will push us to achieve more, when we work together
2030beyond works for all 17 SDGs under the umbrella of SDG #17: Partnerships for action to support parliamentarians and people to accelerate action for the 2030 Agenda:
- We have an ambition to tap the potential of the 46.000 parliamentarians around the world, to make them ‘fir for purpose’ to play their role as leaders in their communities and accelerate action for the SDGs. It is crucial that Parliaments can hold governments accountable, perform parliamentary oversight, implement SDG budgeting and make sure to Leave No One Behind, said Kirsten Brosbøl.
2030beyond facilitates the convening of the global network of Parliamentarians for the Global Goals, which will be launched at the UN General Assembly’s SDG Action Zone on September 24, 2020.
